The book is the chronicle of Terry's father-in-law 's experience as an aviator in World War II. It is his first book. 

Irwin spent 34 years in education, at high school and college levels. He started flying when he was 17 years old and while in college, he earned his private, commercial, and flight instructor's certificates. He currently owns the Aeronca Champ that he first flew in 1969 and is an active flight instructor.

She is married to Matthew Turner, owner of Loopy Larry's. She was selected as a 2024 Paducah-McCracken County NAACP's Rosa Parks Power of One honoree.
