The Author Spotlight, a semiannual event, is an excellent opportunity to meet regional authors in a casual atmosphere. Authors will be available to chat with you or purchase /sign their works.

Copies of the titles will also be available to check out or download as an e-book. 

 

Authors /titles included in this event are :

 

Tracey Buchanan -Toward the Corner of Mercy and Peace

Set in 1952 in the small western Kentucky town of Paducah, Buchanan created a heartwarming novel that touches upon themes of isolation, self-acceptance, friendship, forgiveness and faith. The depiction of life in a small town is delightful.

 

LeTonia Jones -Black Girl at the Intersection 

Jones is a life-long Kentuckian who has used the alchemy of the arts and activism for over 25 years. The poems in Black Girl at the Intersection speak from the intersection of social justice and personal heartbreak. 

 

Jamie H. Vaught -Forever Crazy about the Cats: An improbable Journey of a Kentucky Sportswriter Overcoming Adversity 

Veteran sportswriter Vaught has covered University of Kentucky basketball since the early college days including the team's NCAA Final Four appearances in 2012 and 2015. He is a longtime credentialed sports columnist in Kentucky, whose articles over several decades have appeared in many outlets, including The Cats' Pause magazine (13 years). Vaught, a two-time UK graduate, has written six books about UK basketball, including Crazy About the Cats: From Rupp to Pitino in 1991. He is the founder and editor of the growing KySportsStyle.com Magazine

In addition to numerous UK stories and interviews, the book is also part memoir about Vaught’s long, adventurous career of covering the Wildcats in basketball and football while overcoming personal adversity — a devastating hearing loss since birth. 

 

Chris Skates -Moonshine Over Georgia A Novel Based on Actual Events 

Kentucky author Chris Skates shares his family’s legacy story detailed in his new book Moonshine over Georgia.

Based on true stories Agent Miller told his grandson Chris Skates and drawing from interviews and historical documents.
