Telescopes 101

Led by Dr. Victor Taveras, Associate Professor of Physics & Astronomy, West Kentucky Community and Technical College

The presentation will examine observational astronomy and address a couple of questions such as: what can we observe with and without telescopes. Taveras will discuss how telescopes work and cover what should you look for in selecting a telescope.

Dr. Taveras joined the WKCTC faculty in 2011. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Rhode Island and a doctorate degree in physics from Pennsylvania State University. He has also completed post-doctoral research at Louisiana State University.
